CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to June 28, 2008!!!
Authors are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Abstracts should focus on one of the Congress Topics. All contributions will be reviewed before inclusion in the programme.
- Abstracts containing no more than 2500 characters (including spaces, title and author information) must be written in English using simple and clear sentences. The book of abstracts will be distributed to all participants upon registration in Portorož.
Scientific papers should have following structure:
- Introduction with clearly stated aim
- Methods and Subjects
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
- Each participant may submit up to 3 (three) abstracts as presenting author
- We ask the authors to register and submit the abstracts electronically trough the on-line submission form where detailed submission guidelines can be found. An acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to your electronic address after the submission is successfully completed together with an access key, that will enable you to edit or change your paper, up to the submission deadline.
- Figures, tables and other illustrations may not be included in abstracts.
- Without registration and payment of the registration fees by June 13, 2008, authors cannot be be scheduled in the scientific program nor will appear in the abstract book.
Deadline for submission of abstracts is May 5, 2008.
Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent electronically to the corresponding author by
May 26, 2008.
Information for speakers and poster presenters
Presentation Formats
The Scientific Committee will ultimately decide whether a submitted paper will be selected for an oral or a poster presentation. A considerable part of the invited talks will be selected based on scientific merit of submitted abstracts. Please make sure to indicate the preferred presentation type on the abstract submission web site.
Presentations must not exceed 6 minutes talk followed by a 2 minutes discussion. In poster sessions authors are requested to be present at the poster during the scheduled times for discussion.

Each poster is exhibited for one day only and will be displayed in the Foyer Hall of the congress site. Display boards will be numbered.
Projection Facilities for Oral Sessions
Technical equipment available for presentations:
- DATA projectors (DATASCOPE) for computer presentation (resolution up to 1024 x 768 pixels)
- Video projections (DVD)
- PC with Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Office 2007
Speaker Centre
The technical organizer will give you additional instructions concerning your session and the presentation of your paper in the Speaker Centre located in the Foyer. Please make sure that your computer presentation is fully operational before your talk. Only Power Point presentations, CDROM, ZIP disk USB1 Memory cards will be accepted. Version MS PowerPoint 2003 is recommended. We suggest that your computer presentation be installed and tested at least one day before your talk. The Speaker Centre will be open daily from 8.00 to 18.00h. Presenters are kindly asked to use the available computers. Only if they have special rasons should they use their own notebooks.
Instructions for Poster Preparation
Posters must be brought to the Conference by the presenting author and should not be mailed in advance. The required dimensions are 95 cm (width) by 120 cm (height). At the top of poster, please provide the title of the paper, names of the authors and their affiliations, all in bold lettering of about 2.5 to 3 cm size. Artwork and lettering should be large and clear enough so that the poster is readable from a distance of 1.5 m.
